The search is now underway for the individuals, teams, companies or divisions of companies who have made outstanding contributions to the country’s economic, environmental and social well-being in the areas of technology and innovation. The Department of Commerce’s United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) oversees the annual competition for the 2017 National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
The President of the United States presents what is considered this country’s highest award for technological achievement. The competition and award focuses on the importance of technological innovation to the US, while encouraging future generations of Americans to pursue technical careers. These careers are critical for America to remain the innovation leader of global technology.
Information about the requirements for nomination and its form is available at NMTI Nominations. All completed nominations are due at the USPTO by midnight (ET), April 7, 2017.
