SPROCKIT announced on July 20th the five latest startups selected to participate in their 2017 partnership program. The startups focus on technologies in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, and advertising, joining 19 other startup companies in the program. Applicants are accepted based on how they address challenges in the market faced by established media and entertainment companies.
SPROCKIT now enters its fifth year of running as an alliance of technology, entertainment, and media executives collaborating with promising market-ready startups. SPROCKET partners include: Verizon Digital Media Services, Univision Communications Inc. Google, HCL Technologies, Hearst Television, Fox Networks Group, Samsung NEXT, and TEGNA Inc.
Following its recent gathering at Google headquarters where its full class met with corporate partners to discuss industry advances, the next step is the NAB Show to be held in April 2018.

The five latest startups joining SPROCKIT are:
- VideoAmp, combining brand marketing from digital and TV platforms to increase the effectiveness of the advertising medium and the message.
- SureWaves, simplifying global TV advertising through a programmatic TV with Skynet.
- Graphika, using social media data to map content, conversations, and influencers within specific communities.
- AppTek, providing call center content discovery, closed captioning, and mobile intelligent voice agent solutions through artificial intelligence, automatic speech recognition, and machine learning.
- AlertMe, assisting publishers with artificial intelligence to connect and engage readers, reduce traffic dependency in social media, and drive first-party data.
