A group of people looking closely at a project

The eight female-led startups participating in the national pitching and fundraising program run specifically for female founders, Ready Set Raise, were announced last week by business-accelerating network Female Founders Alliance (FFA). The inaugural class includes CEOs with diverse backgrounds in a range of sectors that includes blockchain, eCommerce, and financial services. All of them are ready and set to give their pitches to a group of private investors on September 27th.

The program gives special consideration to its female founders and their needs when pursuing their goals, offering virtual programming and free childcare. In addition to these offerings Washington-based, Trilogy Equity Partners is subsidizing all of the program’s fees in order to make Ready Set Raise the most easy-to-access program aimed at female founders.

“Ready Set Raise is designed to break the barriers that prohibit female-led startups from participating in accelerators, and we’re thrilled Trilogy is making a substantive contribution to make this promise real,” said Leslie Feinzaig, CEO of FFA. “The inaugural cohort is a world-class group of leaders who are going to change the world. It is our privilege to fuel their journey.”

A highly competitive pool of applicants came from all over in North America. The eight finalists got their spots based on an exhaustive review of their business model, scalability, the team behind the product, the product itself, and their industry. The eight finalists are:

  • Zeta Help, from San Francisco CA, offering a financial support platform for millennial couples.
  • Pandere Shoes, from Anchorage, AK, producing an expandable shoe for people with health and foot challenges.
  • MoxieReader, from New York, NY, uses technology to improve child literacy.
  • Magic AI, from Seattle, WA, uses AI to care for livestock.
  • geeRemit, from Raleigh, NC, powers remittances to Africa by leveraging blockchain.
  • Future Sight AR, from Houston, TX, produces augmented reality for construction, procurement, and engineering companies.
  • Me Inc., from New York, NY, offers a document marketplace built by lawyers, for lawyers.
  • Chanlogic, from Seattle, WA, gives eCommerce channel managers a global Software-as-a-Service product.
