F. Michael Tucker, CEO of CEG, noted that the event was a celebration of the significant changes that are taking place in the tech industry due in part to the guests of honor. As stated by Tucker, “CEG’s annual Technology Innovation Awards Luncheon is an opportunity to identify and recognize innovative achievements taking place in our region and foster continued growth and success of both our companies and entrepreneurs. At CEG, we believe entrepreneurs and innovation will drive the continued transformation of Tech Valley, and we congratulate this year’s winners for seeing that vision.”

CEG invited Martin Babinec to be the keynote speaker at the event. Babinec is the founder and Board member of TriNet, a company from Silicon Valley that provides cloud-based HR products, services, and softwares for small companies in the US. Babinec has also founded several companies that help startups and small businesses obtain necessary resources and networking to fund and/or expand their enterprises. These companies include Upstate Venture Connect, StartFast Venture Accelerator, IntroNet, and UpVentures. At the Awards Luncheon, Barbinec spoke to an audience of more than 300 business leaders and professionals from the Tech Valley area.

The event highlighted both the tech companies’ growth and innovation, but the important role the tech startups have New York State’s Tech Valley. CEG was acknowledged as having a key role in aiding these startup companies by fostering an environment in which startups have the resources necessary to grow.
