Tractica released a new report about the robotics industry forecasting the unit sale revenue for robots dramatically increasing to $237.3 billion by 2022, from $31 billion in 2016. Fueling this increase is the growth of non-industrial robotics sectors such as enterprise robots, consumer robots, autonomous vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles, emanating more and more from Silicon Valley.
Tractica provides research on human-technology interaction, providing views on the market opportunities in digital health, robotics, artificial intelligence, user interface technologies, and wearable devices. The report, titled “Robotics Market Forecasts”, examines the global robotics market and forecasts from 2016 to 2022, segmented into 23 markets based on application.
Aditya Kaul, research director, spoke about the shifting market trend in a press release, stating, “…industrial robotics, which has been the traditional pillar of the robotics market, has given way to non-industrial robot categories like personal assistant robots, UAVs, and autonomous vehicles. In this process, the epicenter of the industry is shifting toward Silicon Valley, which is now also becoming a hotbed for artificial intelligence (AI), a set of technologies that are, in turn, driving a lot of the most significant advancements in robotics.”
The report includes data on revenue and robot shipments by world region, enabling technology, and application market. Machine vision, tactile sensors, voice and speech recognition, and gesture recognition are included in the report’s attach rate analysis.
