Maureen Cronin M.D., Ph.D., former Head of Women’s Medical Affairs at Bayer Schering Pharma, has taken a position with Swiss-based Ava, a medical technology company focused on innovations in women’s reproductive health with California-based facilities. Cronin is taking the newly created position of Chief Medical Officer.
Ava is best known for its popular cycle-tracking sensor bracelet and its first product, the fertility-tracking bracelet which has had great consumer success. Through its recruitment and hiring of Dr. Cronin, AVA seeks to promote its vision and become a research contributor with opinion leaders in the medical community and healthcare industry.

In the new position Cronin will report directly to Ava Co-Founder Peter Stein. Her responsibilities include ensuring the medical safety and efficacy of Ava’s existing and future products currently in development—and educating and expanding relations between Ava and the global medical community.
Cronin has had an extensive career in medical affairs, product development, and life cycle management. In addition to her twenty plus years at Bayer Schering Medical Affairs, she is an invited speaker and/or member of a scientific committee at European Society of Cardiology, Women Deliver, Population Council, USAID, FIGO, ISPE and numerous international women´s health scientific congresses.
