Continuing its annual series of bringing to its campus highly notable speakers who are on the cutting edge of technology, Stevens Institute of Technology is hosting Goldman Sachs’ CIO Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani for its President’s Distinguished Lecture Series. CIO Mossavar-Rahmani is “one of America’s foremost investment professionals – someone whose department is entrusted with managing the assets of Goldman-Sachs’ highest net worth clients,” according to the press release for the event. Stevens President Dr. Nariman Farvardin will host the event and provide welcoming remarks.
Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, will discuss the increasing use of quantitative tools and technology in investment management and trading. These tools have contributed much to the financial services industry, but they require very specific skills and an analytic mind to gain the greatest insight they potentially can provide. The presentation will focus on “how to balance the science behind the application of powerful investment data tools and the art of interpreting the information they uncover.”
The event is free and open to the public. It will take place this coming Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. on the Stevens Institute’s campus at the DeBaun Auditorium, 500 Hudson Street Hoboken, NJ 07030. Tickets must be reserved in advance via: https://connect.stevens.edu/pdls. Tickets will then be e-mailed to registrants on the week of the event.
