For the 12th year in a row, the MIT Sloan Boston Association, MIT Initiative for Digital Economy and MIT Sloan CISR have partnered to hold the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium on May 20 in Cambridge, MA. This annual event gathers worldwide information technology leaders for a full day of presentations, panels and networking events focused on the future of business technology.

During the 12th annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium, the presentation of the 2015 MIT Sloan CIO Leadership Award will take place. This award honors Chief Information Officers who are enhancing business practices with innovative IT. Following two rounds of detailed analysis of each application by the judges, four finalists have been chosen based on four key traits of a CIO leader: Strong Communicator, Proven Manager, Value Driver & Trusted Partner.

“These finalists are truly amazing leaders, and the award committee is proud to name them as finalists,” said Dr. George Westerman, Research Scientist of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy and Co-Chair of the Award Program. “These leaders, along with their business colleagues, have used technology to truly transform their businesses. They have set the course for a successful digital future.”

The 2015 MIT Sloan CIO Leadership Award finalists are: Pablo Ciano, CIO, DHL Express Americas; Herve Coureil, CIO, Schneider Electric; Peter Nichol, Director, IT, Access Health CT and Michael Nilles, CIO, Schindler.

A panel of judges, composed of past award winners and finalists and CIOs, will interview these finalists on their companies and how they’re using innovative IT to drive their business. The winner will be announced on the eve of the symposium, as the award will be presented at the symposium the next day.
