Massachusetts-based pharmaceutical company scPharmaceuticals has appointed John Tucker as CEO and elected him to the board of directors. Prior to this appointment, Tucker was the CEO of Alcresta and a senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Incline Therapeutics, having over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceuticals industry.

“I am very honored and excited to join scPharmaceuticals, a growing biopharmaceutical company,” Tucker said. “We have a tremendous opportunity to reduce the burden to the patient while meaningfully reducing the cost of care in the management of heart failure and infectious disease through innovative subcutaneous drug delivery.”

Jack Khattar, a board member, led the search committee for the scPharmaceuticals CEO, and said that, “John’s experience building commercial-ready infrastructures in both private and public companies, as well as developing new markets, will be enormously beneficial to scPharmaceuticals as we advance our lead program and continue the transition from a research and development company to a commercial-stage organization.”

Subcutaneous drug delivery is the focus of scPharmaceuticals, currently a privately-held company developing the sc3WearTM Infusor, a delivery platform focusing on the reduction of healthcare costs while improving patient care. Their initial products deal with combatting infectious diseases and heart failure.
