The Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship has launched a new accelerator program slated for this summer, the MIT NYC Startup Studio.

The accelerator is focused on an educational and mentorship-based experience for teams that would benefit from being based in Manhattan, working in areas such as real estate, creative arts, media, or financial technologies.

This new program holds many similarities to MIT delta v, such as run dates, the same $2K/month fellowship to cover expenses, and identical mentorship and coaching from MIT Entrepreneurs in Residence.

The largest difference that the MIT NYC Startup Studio offers is its access to New York’s mentors and industry leaders, and the ability to visit incubators, VC firms, and other useful attractions within Manhattan.

Additionally, those participating in the Startup Studio are not eligible for the $20/K equity-free milestone funding for the summer. Although there is the possibility of equity-free funding being announced later, the website states, “We want to provide teams with the expectation that this aspect of the MIT delta v program in Cambridge is not part of the MIT NYC experience.”
