Fintech Goodworld, a social payment charity platform, and payment innovator Verrency jointly announced a new partnership on March 13th. The combination of Verrency’s banking payment services with Goodworld’s charity fund raising platform is yields a Corporate Social Responsibility offering that will be delivered through major banks. The new offering enables bank customers all over the world to easily donate to the charities of their choice.
The new service offering allows bank customers to set up a ‘round-up’ of credit and debit transactions towards a selected amount, donating the ‘round-up’ amount to their preferred charity automatically. The customer receives reinforcement and updates about their donations, with an option to post about donation totals on social media.
“Goodworld is all about making donations seamless via social media. Together, we realized that we could significantly increase the amount of charitable donations by extending Goodworld’s services to banks,” said Verrency CEO and founder, David Link. “An average US consumer who rounds up their card transactions will donate between $150 – $1500 per year to charity. This will have a significant impact on charitable giving while also enabling banks to do some real good for the world, their customers and their brand – all at the same time.”
The partnership represents a truly multinational effort in the name of charitable giving, with D.C.-based Goodworld allowing users to remit money through social media, donating via either a comment, tweet or click, then receiving an immediate reply on Facebook or Twitter from the charity. Verrency, based in Australia, allows banks to rapidly implement real-time payment services without overhauling existing infrastructure and without complex integration. Users receive a customized receipt via either a credit or debit card transaction with the money sent via Automated Clearing House to the charity or merchant bank account.
