Princeton Tech Meetup, a monthly gathering of “techies†from around Princeton and surrounding central New Jersey, held on February 26th its 33rd meeting since inception, featuring a discussion of Fintech innovation and key elements helpful to financial services startups.
Guest Speaker Dan Raju, co-founder and CEO of the open brokerage API company Tradier, shared his entrepreneurial journey. Raju, having much experience with retail and brokerage technology throughout his career, described how he came to launch Tradier, which provides traders with their own customized secure trading platform.
Raju advised entrepreneurs to assemble a team rather than build a startup alone and fully understand the details. He emphasized the importance of fundraising, generosity, joining business incubators and pitching at meet-ups.
“Iteration creates perfect,†Raju said. “Delegation is important, don’t try to do it all yourself.â€
Raju emphasized the growing role of mobile, an important tool for marketing and financial apps.
Short presentations were also given by Lactoman, a local farm delivery company in Princeton, Offerboard, a capital-raising company, and Eureqa, a UI testing program that can take two weeks of testing down to two hours.
