Football player Drew Brees

Drew Brees is now making bold moves off the field just as he did during his NFL career that led to his great success with the New Orleans Saints.  The future Hall of Fame quarterback is now a member of the PointsBet team. Brees’ new role as Brand Ambassador for the global online gaming operator follows his recent entry in broadcasting with NBC Sports—PointsBet’s official betting partner.

“Today is a massive day for our company as we welcome Drew Brees into the PointsBet family,” said Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO. “Drew is renowned for his tireless work ethic and achieved great success in his career regardless of the obstacles in front of him, possessing the scrappy, well-prepared challenger, win-at-all-costs mentality that embodies PointsBet’s DNA.”

The exclusive multi-year relationship that Brees is starting with PointsBet includes an equity stake. His role includes helping to develop original content for PointsBet, leading watch parties, and steering marketing and promotional concepts, among other areas.

“I am excited to team up with PointsBet, a leader in the future of sports entertainment built off elite technology,” said Brees. “Sports betting is growing across the country and will positively impact sports engagement, and I am proud to be at the forefront alongside PointsBet and NBC Sports.”

Brees relationship with NBC Sports in broadcasting and his serving as PointsBet’s Brand Ambassador marries well with the partnering relationship that the two companies have.  PointsBet will use the media giant’s premium television and digital assets to promote the PointsBet brand in which Brees will have a key role. Currently, NBC Sports provides PointsBet with year-round, multi-platform media and marketing opportunities associated with their portfolio of events.

PointsBet is rapidly expanding its footprint, bringing its proprietary technology, premium brand approach, expert trading practices, and growth marketing strategies to the emerging sports betting markets of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and New Jersey.  New Jersey is recognizing the growth of the online wagering industry and is taking steps under Governor Murphy’s leadership. The NJEDA recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with New Jersey City University (NJCU) to support the creation of a Sports Wagering and Financial Technology Workforce Development and Innovation Center that is located in Jersey City, a growing fintech hub.

As an online gaming operator that touts having the quickest and most user-friendly app (iOS and Android), PointsBet’s goal is to provide the best content and experience for sports bettors. With Drew Brees now serving as Brand Ambassador and NBC Sports as a partner, PointsBet is well positioned to make 2021 very successful and the coming years as well.
