In a first, Dealmoon.com, a Chinese-American shopping advisory site won the “Most Influential Fashion Account Award” at the Annual V Influence Summit, hosted by Weibo. The company is known for attracting millions of fashion lovers to shop their luxury brands and Weibo, one of the world’s largest social media platform, honored them at the glamorous awards event held in Beijing, China.
With over 20 million users in their community, Dealmoon gets over 17 million clicks a month, mostly targeting Chinese-American upper-class millennials. The company was founded in 2009 by six Chinese-American immigrants who have become extremely successful by fostering a thriving social media base with users that enjoy sharing pictures or videos of their newest purchases.
While many of the products on the site are typically known to be luxury brands, the users on Dealmoon represent a demographic expected to consume 44 percent of the world’s luxury product inventory by 2025 and the site’s popularity appealed to Weibo. Created in 2009 in response to the Chinese ban on many social media sites, Weibo has over 400 million active users and hosts an annual Weibo Night, a televised ceremony similar in style and extravagance to the Oscars or Grammys.
“Since 2009, Dealmoon has connected brands like La Mer to Lancôme, Gucci to Chloe, Moschino to McQueen to this specific demographic. We’ve become a global expert voice for the retail community to better understand what this consumer craves. We help brands to communicate to these shoppers in a way that is native, natural and inspiring,” said Jennifer Wang, co-founder and CMO of Dealmoon, in a press statement.
