Referencing a recently-published Stanford University report entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Life in 2030”,  Dr. James Fan, one of the co-creators of IBM’s Watson, will be presenting a four-part interactive workshop to break down the report’s importance and purpose. Sponsored by Galvanize, an online tech educational community, the workshop’s first segment will be held in lower Manhattan on May 10th.

The workshop is intended to be understandable by everyone, whether they’re students, investors, developers, advertisers, or anything else. For industry, the report talks about ethical and legal challenges inherent with AI, the relevant technologies for their implementation, and could help resource allocation.

The Stanford University report is described by the as, “a long-term investigation of the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its influences on people, their communities, and society… [The report is meant] to consider the likely influences of AI in a typical North American city by the year 2030.”

In addition to his work on IBM’S Watson AI, Dr. James Fan has authored and co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed papers, is the current CEO and co-founder of HelloVera.ai, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin.
