On March 30th, thousands of leaders in government, education, and work from 50 countries will convene in San Diego at the 2020 Arizona State University (ASU) and Global Silicon Valley (GSV) Summit to discuss social and economic problems and solutions. Since 2010, ASU and GSV have partnered every year to host a three day event that elevates dialogue and drives action with the goal of creating equal opportunity for all individuals in education and the workforce.

As part of Summit’s investment in innovation, a group of Elite 200 companies compete in GSV Cup at the conference to showcase how their product or service can bend the arc of human potential and advance social and economic mobility through technology. Three companies will be chosen as finalists during the Summit, winning a cash prize of $250,000 or $100,000 in Google Cloud credits. The unique competition spans “pre-K to gray” sectors, including technologies in corporate learning and talent management, workforce analytics, early childhood, K-12, HireED and postsecondary education”.

Over the course of the Summit, participants will hear from prominent keynote speakers including Carla Harris, Malcolm Gladwell, and Bill Nye, and attend sessions with other leaders in education, Chief Learning and Talent Officers, and entrepreneurs. Representatives from major companies such as EY, Amazon Web Services, and Chegg will be attending and judging the 200 companies participating in the GSV Cup.

“We are very excited to be selected among GSV’s Elite 200,” said Gustavo Rodriguez, co-founder and CEO of BabySparks, a technology company recently named to the Elite 200 list that helps parents and caregivers support early development of their children. “Unlocking the full potential of every child in the world is our very mission and we can’t think of a more appropriate honor.”
