Farmers across North America have a new opportunity to achieve greater profitability thanks to a new technology joint venture between the Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and Cargill, Incorporated, known as Grainbridge LLC. This new venture established by these two corporate competitors supports farmers with e-commerce, account management software, and grain marketing support— all in one digital platform and at no cost to the farmers.
The Venture’s first digital tool to be placed into development will give farmers a secure way to access their combined Cargill and ADM transactions, including their payment information, contracts, and scale tickets. Near-future projects will include introducing an easy and simple method for farmers to perform grain transactions no matter their schedule, using automated intelligence that illustrates break-even levels, risk management, and other options right at their fingertips.
“The ultimate goal is to help farmers make better, smarter decisions, using the data that is already existing in their operations,” said the president of Cargill’s North American agricultural supply chain, Roger Watchorn. “Both Cargill and ADM are committed to helping farmers succeed. It’s why we’re in this business, and why we’ll continue to invest in these tools well into the future.”
Grainbridge expressed an intention to keep the platform open, welcoming grain buyers, technology and data providers, and even other grain companies to participate. This approach enhances all of the information available on the platform, while safeguarding valuable customer data behind strong protections built right into the system.
