This year’s annual Smithers Apex WEAR 2017, a conference focused on wearable technology, material innovation, and smart fabrics, will be held from June 12th to 14th in San Francisco, California. Holding the distinction of the longest-running smart fabrics and wearable technology conference, WEAR 2017 has drawn top speakers from several industries.
Attending companies include Hanes Brands, Smartwool, Nike, Microsoft, P&G, and Cotton Inc., with Google, Facebook, lululemon, Patagonia, and Adidas confirmed to have speakers at the conference. In total, over 45 presentations are expected, split into two categories on smart fabrics and wearable technology.
A new component of the 2017 conference, sponsored by Adidas, is a series of 15 minute one-on-one mentoring sessions enabling attendees to meet with branding, innovation, and smart fabrics experts like Stacey Burr, Vice President General Manager at Adidas Digital Sport, Beth Macdonald, Vice President of Business Development at Dragon Innovation, Stacy Flynn, the CEO and Co-founder of EVRNU, and founder of Principled Design, Despina Papadopoulos.
Smithers Apex’s Head of Production, Kimberlee Rohrer, looks forward to this year’s additions, saying that, “In addition to the six hours of networking opportunities, these sessions will give attendees the chance to have direct access to individuals they may otherwise not have the chance to meet, while discussing a broad range of hot topics within wearables and smart fabrics.”
