PitchBook, a software and financial data company, released their list of Unicorn companies in 2018, or privately-held companies with a valuation of over $1 billion. The list of seven companies includes two California-based companies with the remainder scattered across the globe—from Jerusalem to China.
The companies in the list, their industry, and their valuations are:
- Canva, Multimedia & Design Software, valued at $1 billion
- Meicai, Platform Software, valued at $2.8 billion
- Caocao, Automotive, valued at $1.6 billion
- Cabify, Automotive, valued at $1.4 billion
- Snowflake, Database Software, valued at $1.8 billion
- HeartFlow, Decision/Risk Analysis, valued at $1.5 billion
- OrCam, HC Devices and supplies, valued at $1.0 billion

Now part of Morningstar, PitchBook provides information on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and equity to assist their clients in making informed decisions.
PitchBook plans to continually update the list as the year progresses. Their list of unicorn companies in 2017 reached 53 venture capital-backed companies all over the world.
Alternatively, the Prime Unicorn Index tracks privately funded US companies and their share price performance.
