Ultion’s expansion of domestic battery manufacturing will strengthen the U.S. supply chain when the global battery energy storage market is projected to exceed $1.2 trillion in investments by 2034 which has been trending toward overseas suppliers.

In a decisive step toward U.S. energy independence, Ultion Technologies, a Nevada-based battery manufacturing company, has closed its Series A funding round which was led by Utah-based Torus that is a pioneer in full-stack energy storage systems.

The funding round also includes participation from mission-aligned investors such as Battle Born Venture, Nevada’s state-sponsored venture capital program which the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has oversight, and is a key driver of Nevada’s innovation ecosystem.

This investment positions Ultion as a key player in the national effort to reduce reliance on foreign battery supply chains. The company is the only fully integrated American manufacturer currently shipping advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells and energy storage systems at scale.

This is a critical differentiator as demand for domestically sourced energy technology accelerates.

Tackling America’s Battery Supply Chain Crisis

Today, more than 70% of global battery production is based in Asia, and 90% of battery materials are processed outside the U.S. that is a strategic and economic vulnerability. The Ultion-Torus funding announcement directly responds to this issue by expanding battery production on U.S. soil with an emphasis on domestic sourcing.

This deep bench of experience is now being channeled into building the U.S.’s battery infrastructure from the ground up that is now anchored by a vertically integrated manufacturing plant in Nevada.

According to energy research firm Wood Mackenzie, the global battery energy storage market is projected to exceed $1.2 trillion in investments by 2034, largely driven by the transition to grid-forming renewable energy.

Without a robust domestic battery manufacturing base, the majority of that value will continue flowing overseas. Ultion aims to reverse that trend.
