100 small businesses will be recognized at the U.S. Chambers’ upcoming Small Business Forum
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has advocated in Washington pro-business policies for over 100 years. They aim to help businesses create jobs and grow the U.S. economy. With that in view, the Chamber and its digital platform CO— announced their selection of the top 100 American small businesses.
“Small businesses embody the resilience and ingenuity that define America’s free enterprise system, yet they often go unrecognized,” said Jeanette Mulvey, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of CO— by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The selected 100, segmented into 10 awardees in 10 categories, showcase America’s diverse small business sector from microbreweries to fisheries to healthcare startups. The categories include Growth Accelerators, Community Champions, Global Stars, and seven others.
Mblue Labs, creator of the revolutionary skin health brand Bluelene® was recognized for its exceptional growth, groundbreaking scientific research, resilience, and diverse and inclusive company culture. The company was founded in 2018 as a spinout company from the University of Maryland (UMD) to commercialize a groundbreaking skin health technology discovered by Human Aging Expert Dr. Kan Cao, Professor of Cell Biology & Molecular Genetics.
“At UMD, we prioritize translating groundbreaking scientific research into impactful commercial ventures. We take immense pride in seeing our spin-out companies achieve remarkable market success,” said Ken Porter, Executive Director of UM Ventures.
The Chamber will host a celebration of the CO—100 at its Washington, D.C. headquarters on October 8th. As VIPs they will have access to the influential speakers and guests of the CO—100 Small Business Forum.
VIP guest, Olympic gold medalist, Dominique Dawes, will speak about her entrepreneurial journey as founder of the Dominique Dawes Gymnastics & Ninja Academies. The evening awards dinner will recognize all awardees, each receiving $2,000 and the overall winner with $25,000.
Over 14,000 applicants were judged by a panel for their overall growth, cutting-edge ideas, resilience, and strong employee cultures. Over half (64%) had more than $1 million in revenue last year. They represented 31 states and Washington, D.C.
