The Ameren Accelerator application deadline of March 9th is just a few days away. Entrepreneurs or energy-technology companies have an opportunity to receive $100,000 in seed capital and participate in the Accelerator’s 12-week program which is among the first accelerators in the U.S. and the first in the St. Louis region to focus entirely on new energy technology.
Accepted applicants also gain access to facilities, networking connections, technical assistance, and intensive mentoring from program partners, as well as advice from subject-matter experts in operations, finance, pricing, sales, energy, and other areas. Partners for the energy focused accelerator include the Ameren Corporation, UMSL Accelerate, the University of Missouri System, and Capital Innovators.
The accelerator’s goals are to bring job-creating startups into St. Louis, provide university students opportunities for involvement and engagement in energy business, and assist Ameren in meeting future energy expectations. When completed, finalists showcase their efforts and ideas to other entrepreneurs, students, executives, and the public as a whole during a Demo Day in September.
The inaugural 2017 Ameren Accelerator brought in seven startup companies from around the world, drawing from more than 200 applicants from 23 states and 31 countries.
