A potential competitor for the Challenge looking at information on their smartphone

TD Bank with operations in the U.S. and Canada stands ready to help organizations with measurable, innovative solutions for COVID-19 through their TD Ready Challenge. The annual initiative offers $10 million CAD in grants, ranging from $350,000 CAD up to $1 million (CAD). With mounting evidence that COVID-19 is affecting certain populations far more than others, TD asks that applications for the challenge focus on addressing these inequities.

The Challenge stands as part of TD’s effort to building stronger, more resilient societies that are under stress from the impact of COVID-19. Driven by the interconnected drives of change behind the TD Ready Commitment, solutions can fit into one or more of the categories of Financial Security, Better Health, Connected Communities, or a Vibrant Planet.

“We are excited to build on the momentum of the previous TD Ready Challenge initiatives, focusing our support to drive change on systemic inequity which has been exacerbated by the pandemic,” said Shelley Sylva, U.S. Head of Social Impact at TD Bank Group. “Through this year’s Challenge, we are committed to working towards making the world more equitable and inclusive for everyone.”

Applications are open until August 13th, 2020. Any Canadian-registered or incorporated charities, not-for-profits, and U.S. charitable, not-for-profit organizations are all eligible, but previous winners are not. Every application must be innovative; enabling new approaches to problems that haven’t been tried before.
