Senator Cory Booker’s Projects Specialist, Shante D. Palmer, has joined Trenton-based Capital Impact Group (CIG) as Senior Vice President of Business Development, announced via press release. In her new role Shante will manage CIG’s multistate business development efforts, as well as provide counsel for the firm’s public affairs clients. CIG, a bi-partisan firm comprised of former public officials, agency professionals, and communications experts, focuses on government and key-decision makers in every realm of public policy.
Palmer’s public sector tenure included service to three New Jersey United States Senators — Frank Lautenberg, Jeff Chisea and Cory Booker. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Essex County College, where she teaches American Government. Earlier in her career Palmer was a Compliance Specialist with the National Labor Relations Board and a Project Associate at the Center for Law and Metropolitan Equity at Rutgers Law School. She has served as a Board member for both the Montclair NAACP and Montclair’s affordable housing organization, HOMECorp.
“We are very thrilled to have Shante join our team” said CIG Principal Gerry Gibbs. “Shante will be filling a new and exciting position here at CIG as we look to service our rapidly growing business development practice. Shante has the experience and relationships necessary to make an immediate impact.”
