In partnership with tech giant Microsoft, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is organizing a nationwide prize competition to support companies positively impacting the lives of women. From Aug 1 – October 6, 2015, business plan submissions will be accepted for consideration in the InnovateHER 2016: Innovating for Women Business Challenge.
Successful submissions are not limited to, but should at least include the following challenge criteria:
A product or service that has a measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30%)
The potential for commercialization (40%), and
The ability to fill a need in the marketplace (30%)
After finalists are notified on November 2, 2015, the top 10 finalists will be selected to pitch to the panel on November 11, 2015 and compete for up to $70,000 in cash prizes provided by Microsoft. The final round will be held in Washington, D.C. as part of Women’s History Month on March 17, 2016.
