Social fundraising enterprise Classy launched their new real-time charitable giving hub on November 28th for #GivingTuesday, presenting a dynamic view about the source of donations in cities and organizations. Classy also announced the launch of ClassyGives, an annual initiative that works with a previous Classy Award winner to help them fundraise and receive recognition.
Dr. Ben Cipollini, an engineering manager for data insights at Classy, spoke about the reason behind launching the programs now, saying, “Our research found that #GivingTuesday donors are 60 to 150 percent more likely to give multiple times to the same organization on that one day, compared to donors who give during disaster relief, including during hurricane Harvey… so we’ve built this dynamic, data-driven hub to help the thousands of nonprofits we serve get the most out of this crucial giving day, while encouraging supporters to easily champion the causes they care about.”
Days for Girls is one cause Classy staff care about deeply, making them the focus of this year’s ClassyGives philanthropic initiative. Days for Girls was recognized as a 2017 Classy Award Winner for their focus on sustainable feminine health education and hygiene solutions across the globe, prompting the staff at Classy to fundraise for them to further their mission.
The giving hub was active for 24 hours on November 28th, allowing anyone to see the stand-out donations and worthwhile fundraising campaigns. ClassyGives will continue to fundraise beyond November 28th, accepting donations from anyone.
