Since its creation in 2004, the annual Online Marketing Media and Advertising (OMMA) Awards have honored companies leading innovation in digital advertising. This year TotallyHer Media’s theFashionSpot (tFS) was selected as the recipient of the Web Site Excellence in the Fashion/Beauty/Cosmetics category. Described as “the web’s largest fashion-focused community and fashion editorial site”, theFashionSpot beat out TotallyHer Media’s TotalBeauty.com, a website for editorial beauty product reviews which was nominated in the same category.

“Since its inception, theFashionSpot has grown exponentially in its editorial model, aesthetic, and site capabilities. Throughout this expansion, our team has done an incredible job of staying true to the site’s authentic voice-this is what has allowed us to both maintain and widely expand upon our passionate community of readers,” said Rebecca Schmitt, General Manager of TotallyHer Media. “Once again, we are thrilled to receive this honor from the OMMA Awards, and are incredibly proud of our deserving editorial team for their hard work, leadership, and relentless ability to push theFashionSpot forward.”

The Web Site Excellence Awards recognize websites with exceptional content, user interface and virtual design. Over the years, theFashionSpot has grown to exhibit each of these qualities and more. The site began as an invitation only community of designers, fashionistas and stylists in 2001, but has grown into a prestigious online fashion community providing almost 13 million users with editorials on beauty, style, wellness, celeb style and more.

This is not the first time that theFashionSpot was recognized by the OMMA Awards. In 2012, the site was honored after it went through an “extreme makeover” that not only improved content, but also implemented Guest Editor programs where fashion icons including Maria Menounos, Tim Gunn, Tracy Anderson and more release monthly columns.

Along with its dedication to improving the experiences of the site’s users, theFashionSpot has released Diversity Reports in efforts to promote diversity in the fashion industry. These reports on fashion advertising campaigns and Fashion Week have been used to address race, age and size issues in the fashion world.

“It has been a true honor and privilege to be part of theFashionSpot’s evolution over the past five years. Our dedicated community of fashion and beauty obsessed readers inspires us and motivates us to do better each day,” said Jennifer Davidson, Managing Editor for theFashionSpot.com. “We’re thrilled to be recognized for website excellence and owe it all to our incredibly talented and hard-working team.”
