To honor exceptional design and engineering in 27 consumer technology categories, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has issued a call for entries for the CES 2016 Innovation Awards until September 16, 2015. To be held in conjunction with the CES 2016, the event will attract over 3500 exhibitors during the 2016 Best of Innovation Award ceremony at CES Unveiled New York on November 10 and the CES 2016 showcase from January 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“The CES Innovation Awards program has evolved along with the consumer technology industry, providing new categories and new opportunities for innovators to gain exposure and recognition,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, CEA. “We admire and honor brilliantly designed and engineered products from companies of all sizes. And we look forward to seeing the latest innovations across this year’s award categories.”

As an international gathering place or consumer technology professionals or over 40 years, CES is devoted to introducing the most current innovations. Newly added to the CES consumer technology categories is Unmanned Systems Marketplace. Calling attention to the developing technology in “drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and other unmanned systems controlled by onboard computers or remotely from the ground”, this category will not only be added to exhibits, but also to the Innovation Awards.

The CES 2016 Innovation Awards are open to all companies, but submitted products must debut for sale to U.S. consumers between April 1, 2015, and April 1, 2016.
