New York State has partnered with MicroMentor to launch Business Mentor NY, the state’s first pro-bono business mentoring program. The program for finding a business mentor is a web platform-based program from which entrepreneurs and small business owners will have a direct line to business professionals and experts from various lines of work. The experts are volunteers who are donating their time and knowledge to help New York up-and-coming businesses succeed in the state.
Businesses can apply for the program at BusinessMentorNY.gov. From there, they can join the site and create a profile for themselves and their company. They can then make a request for a mentor, and reach out to cultivate a new mentor-mentee relationship. The same applies to professionals who wish to contribute to the cause as well; they too can create a profile and then offer their assistance to those seeking it. Startups get the expert knowledge needed to thrive, and the experts have the opportunity to share their knowledge and contribute to the success of their state’s entrepreneurial endeavors.
