Linkplay Technology, creators of WiFi ecosystems that link content streaming partners to audio brands, and Bambu Tech, a sound technology company, formed a just-struck partnership to unveil the first AI-for-audio technology at CES 2018 this week. The new technology promises significant improvements in audio quality and money saving for smart-device producers, leveraging Bambu’s AWSM AI Audio on their WiFi module and applying “adaptive intelligence” for optimization of outbound audio and inbound voice processing.
Bambu’s AWSM, or Advanced Wave Sound Method, uses adaptive intelligence to restore fidelity on stored or streamed audio in any format, from CD-quality WAV files to AACs and MP3s. The AWSM AI Audio analyzes audio samples in real-time, anticipating what should be done with the samples and adapting to millisecond-to-millisecond changes in the harmonics and details of sound to clean and restore them individually.
Linkplay has significant experience with the technologies in AI and sound, serving as one of the first System Integrators for Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service (AVS). Their turnkey platform supports other products from FABRIQ, iHome, Anker, Jam Audio, and Kitsound.
Linkplay’s Chief Business Officer, Jade Wu, talked about the future and potential for the technology in a press release, saying that, “With Ai Audio, Linkplay will be enabling branded OEMs and ODMs in the rapidly growing wireless audio market to substantially differentiate their products. We know that’s vitally important as the segment becomes more competitive.”
Linkplay has offices in California, Korea and China. Bambu is headquartered in Los Angeles and maintains offices in China.
