Dr. Mary J. Wardell, a Professor and diversity and inclusion expert based in San Francisco, released a guide for women of color to become leaders in the workplace, providing an inspiring call-to-action for women in their careers in a time when the importance of diversity is becoming more recognized. The book, called Twice as Good: Leadership and Power for Women of Color, offers practical advice to young female professionals through the lens of powerful examples of other women of color who succeeded in their careers.
As Americans continue challenging what power and leadership should look like in the workplace and discovering the truth about systematic racism and misogyny, Dr. Wardell provides solutions for women on how to question unfair systems, tackling problems early in their career. The book enables young women to learn what steps to take to deal with these issues and utilize their passions to propel them into positions of leadership.
Dr. Wardell founded the DEI Leadership Group, a diversity solutions and crisis management firm in San Francisco, and travels around speaking about diversity and the importance of building a culture of love and inclusivity in the workplace. Through the book, Dr. Wardell works to communicate with women of color in the workforce and encourage them to use their talent and skills to take a stand on issues that matter to them.
The book is available on Amazon and Dr. Wardell is currently available for interview scheduling to discuss the book and other topics surrounding diversity and inclusion.
