Known around the world as a leader in cognitive computing, data strategy, and applied artificial intelligence, JT Kostman, Ph.D., has joined Grant Thornton LLP as their managing director of applied artificial intelligence. He’ll be based in the firm’s Iselin, NJ office, leading the delivery and development of advanced analytic solutions, AI, IoT, blockchain, and machine learning for the firm and its clients.

Kostman holds a doctorate and master’s degree in psychology from the City University of New York, and completed post-doctoral research in mathematics and computer science under a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellowship. Previous positions include serving as the chief data officer and executive committee member for Time Inc., chief data scientist and big data psychologist for Aptus Insights, and chief data scientist for Samsung.

Beyond his corporate experience, Kostman served with the CIA, FBI, DHS, and on President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. Also a sought-after speaker, he will represent Grant Thornton at events both national and international, such as the upcoming National Association of Corporate Directors’ Global Board Leaders’ Summit and the AICPA & CIMA National Conference.
