Tax, audit, and advisory firm KPMG LLP surveyed over 60 intelligent automation analysts to identify the most disruptive technologies emerging over the next three years. Internet of Things, cognitive technology, and robotic process automation were determined to be the three technologies that will have the greatest impact in the near future.
The survey results were released at KPMG’s 2017 Global Analyst Day, held recently in Boston with the theme of “Shaping the 21st Century Enterprise – for Our Clients and Ourselves”. In addition to the top three technologies, the survey revealed that having greater focus on customers is the top priority of business owners.
KPMG’s global head of management consulting, Tim Jones, states, “With a large majority of CEOs concerned about their organization’s ability to keep up with new technologies, customer centricity will be a central driving force for the change, which needs to be both radical and quick.”
With the next generation technologies, innovative approaches, data, and analytics available today, the analysts concluded that data and analytics should become a purchasing priority for businesses. Through these technologies, companies will be able to track customer preferences easier and more accurately than before.
