SF Motors announced on October 19th their acquisition of InEVit Inc., planning to turn the pre-revenue company into a fully owned subsidiary, while continuing to license and market their innovations to competitive vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). While both companies focus on electric vehicles (EVs), InEVit specializes in EV battery modulation technology.
InEVit brings a range of innovative technologies such as manufacturing techniques that lend to rapid scale manufacturing of cost-and-feature-competitive vehicles. Also, InEvit has a patented unique EV chassis architecture and battery module design innovations.
At the head of InEVit is former CEO of Tesla Martin Eberhard, who worked with SF Motors in the past as a key strategic advisor and now serves as a Vice Chairman on the SF Motors’ board and Chief Innovation Officer as part of the acquisition. Additional members of InEVit leadership, including Heiner Fees and Mike Miskovsky, are joining SF Motors in senior roles while retaining their old titles at InEVit.
“We are extremely pleased to add Mr. Eberhard to our executive team, along with his knowledgeable and talented colleagues at InEVit. As a visionary in the EV space and one of the most respected names in the industry, Mr. Eberhard has been an invaluable advisor to SF Motors,” said SF Motors and Sokon Group Chairman, Xinghai Zhang. “We look forward to welcoming him to the company as we work to build the next generation of clean, intelligent vehicles.”
Through the acquisition SF Motors increases their investments into e-powertrain systems while expanding supply and licensing relationships with OEM customers around the globe. InEVit’s technologies, in addition to strengthening SF Motors products, assists in spreading zero emission vehicles across the automotive industry thanks to licensing.
