The Specialty Food Association in partnership with NYCEDC is offering another showcasing opportunity to four New York City immigrant food and beverage manufacturing entrepreneurs, through their “A Taste of NYC: Fancy Food Fellowship”. As part of the City’s immigrant entrepreneur initiatives, the contestants will display their products in sponsored booths, complements of NYC, at the Summer Fancy Food Show, which is being held this year from June 28 through the 30th at the Jacob Javits Center.
The competition was created with the hope of highlighting the city’s hard-working foreign entrepreneurs, and assisting them with the challenges that are intrinsic to so many of these local food manufacturers. Faced with an often limited amount of resources and tenuous outlets for accessing local and national markets, these local businesses face the ongoing struggle to expand their network. As such, the opportunity provided by SFA is invaluable, since winners of its contest are awarded access to a host of industry experts and peers who can aid in their expansion and future success. In addition they will receive a one year membership to SFA, which will provide services to help support and guide the continued growth of their business.
Applicants who are looking to enter need apply by the deadline, which is on February 27, 2015. Candidates will be judged on their potential for economic growth, the quality of their product, and their current ability for market expansion.
If you are an entrepreneur who believes your business qualifies for this contest, the SFA can provide the opportunity to access a vast amount of connections that, through proper management, can help catalyze expansion and guide you in your business expenditures.
