HaloSource, Inc. is increasing their presence in the global market for water filtration after obtaining $2.2 million in strategic funding and landing key distribution deal in China. The funding is to support both online and offline marketing for HaloSource’s astreaTM line that includes a new water bottle and pitcher able to filter 99.9% of contaminants.

Focused on worldwide clean drinking water solutions since 1999, HaloSource has worked for positive social impact in every one of their products from pressurized systems to gravity filters. Operating primarily in the residential drinking water market, HaloSource technology provides clean drinking water worldwide to over 10 million individuals.

“When we began testing HaloSource’s ability to provide safe and cost-effective drinking water 15 years ago, we knew it had great potential,” said Kent Johnson, HaloSource investor, current board member, and Alexander Hutton Venture Partners managing partner in a press release. “Now the crisis around drinking water has come to the fore, and HaloSource stands ready with an immediately executable solution.”

The distribution deal is a five-year agreement with JiuBan Industrial Co., an e-commerce company based in Shanghai. The market for water filtration products grows at over 30% annually in China, with HaloSource expecting over $10 million profit from the deal.
