Renewable Energy World, a top source for green energy and storage news, will be hosting a virtual panel discussion on May 11th at 10 am ET, titled “Innovations in Battery Technology and Infrastructure Fueling the EV Revolution”.
The panel will focus on the challenges facing the EV landscape. They include the need for a domestic supply chain of critical minerals, advancements in EV battery technology and the establishing of the country’s charging infrastructure. To explore the topic, three top CEO’s from companies involved with EV batteries will share their expertise and the future of the EV battery industry.
The panel includes:
- Graphex Group Technologies, a graphite processor and manufacturer represented by CEO, John DeMaio,
- The Coretec Group, a silicon anode developer for lithium-ion batteries represented by CEO, Matt Kappers, and
- Blink Charging, an owner and operator of EV charging equipment services represented by President and Chief Executive Officer
In advance of the event Graphex Technologies CEO DeMaio, highlights his concern about one area important for the success of EV technology. He states, “Critical minerals are often overlooked in conversations around the outlook of EV’s, but it’s necessary to address the supply picture for minerals such as natural graphite in North America which is marked by a significant shortfall in the availability of the necessary volume of graphite needed to meet projected demand.”
EV batteries is just one of a few challenges facing the Electric Vehicle industry. Other areas are sustainable profitability, better vehicle range and the need for improved charging speeds and locations, addressed in a Lux Research Report published in 2020.
The free one-hour long discussion is sponsored by The Coretec Group
