Quesnay’s second Female Founders in Tech Competition series is inviting any and all technology startups led by women having a tested product to apply for the competition, with prizes including financial and marketing support as well as mentoring opportunities. New to this year’s competition is a dedicated insurance track, designed to close the gap between male and female leaders in the industry.
48% of female founders cite that a lack of mentorship is an impediment to success, so Quesnay ensures that partnership opportunities and mentorship are critical pieces of the program. The competition runs for four months, and gives five finalists coaching from industry leaders combined with customized training course. At its conclusion, the finalists also have the opportunity to partner with Quesnay’s corporate sponsors for continued support.
Representing one of those sponsors, CSAA Insurance Group’s chief strategy and innovation officer, Debbie Brackeen, spoke about the competition in a press release. “The best innovations reflect the diversity of the markets they serve. The Female Founders in Tech program plays an important role in identifying disruptive ideas and solutions that can improve how we serve AAA members and aligns closely with our diverse and inclusive values.”
Additional supporting sponsors include Farmers Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, RGAX, and contributing sponsor QBE Insurance. InsureTech Connect will host the finals of the competition during their 2018 conference that brings together over 600 leaders and innovators.
