Freelancers in Group

Fiverr’s Spring 2025 Business Trends Index reveals how AI agents are transforming workflows, while demand rises for freelancers who can humanize AI content.

In a dramatic shift that underscores the rapid evolution of workplace automation, Fiverr’s Spring 2025 Business Trends Index reveals an 18,347% surge in business searches for AI agent-related freelance services.

As generative AI tools grow more sophisticated, companies of all sizes are racing to deploy AI agents—automated tools that independently complete tasks like email handling, scheduling, and customer service.

The data, based on millions of searches from September 2024 to March 2025, highlights a major trend: businesses are urgently seeking freelance experts to bridge the gap between AI ambition and technical execution.

The Rise of AI Agents: A $1 Trillion Opportunity

AI agents—sometimes described as digital employees—are capable of performing tasks without constant human supervision. These agents can work across platforms like web chat, WhatsApp, and voice interfaces, making them invaluable for operations, marketing, and customer engagement.

Industry forecasts predict the AI agent market could hit $1 trillion in value, as companies integrate them into their daily workflows.

“Nearly 30% of my Fiverr orders are for AI agent development,” said Mark Kashef, an AI consultant on Fiverr and founder of Prompt Advisors. “Demand has shifted from simple chatbots to complex, multi-agent systems. Businesses now want voice automation, real-time scheduling, and cross-platform integration—fast.”

This need for speed is driving companies to bypass internal development teams in favor of agile freelance talent who already possess these specialized skills.

The AI Paradox: Humanizing Machine-Generated Content

While automation adoption is skyrocketing, Fiverr’s data reveals a fascinating counter trend: a 641% increase in searches for freelancers who can “humanize AI content.” Businesses are realizing that AI-generated copy—though efficient—often lacks his, her, their, etc. emotional nuance. and brand personality.

“After ChatGPT launched, I assumed demand for my services would drop,” said Gabrielle Gerbus, a freelance brand strategist on Fiverr. “But I’m now getting near-daily requests to edit AI-written content to make it sound more human and emotionally engaging.”

These dual trends—hyper-automation and the need for human touch—reveal an “AI paradox.” While companies want the productivity of AI, they still need the empathy, tone, and originality that only human creatives can provide.

Freelancer-Led Automation & Marketing Continue to Climb

Beyond AI content and agents, businesses are rapidly embracing freelance-led tools for automation and marketing.

Fiverr search trends show significant spikes in demand for platforms and services that streamline operations and content distribution:

  • Go High Level: +1,489%
  • Make.com (Integromat): +1,083%
  • Substack: +2,028%
  • Beehiiv: +1,211%

These tools help businesses automate customer journeys, launch email newsletters, and build subscriber communities—yet they often require technical skill to set up. Freelancers are filling that gap.

“Most small and mid-sized businesses don’t have internal staff who know how to implement these tools,” said Yoav Hornung, Head of Verticals at Fiverr. “Freelancers offer a fast, flexible way to tap into this expertise and stay competitive.”

The 2025 Fiverr Business Trends Index also tracks rising demand across other global markets, including Australia, Germany, France, Israel, and the U.K., where AI adoption and marketing automation are also accelerating. This shows the trend is not confined to the U.S.—companies worldwide are undergoing rapid digital transformation.
