Citrine Informatics announced on July 6th that it won the World Materials Forum Start-up Challenge Award. Focusing on worldwide materials solutions via academics, industrialists, and politicians from several countries, the Start-up Challenge recognized Citrine as the winner from the 12 semi-finalists.
Citrine is an artificial intelligence platform able to leverage the world’s largest materials database through the optimization of existing relationships in physics and chemistry. Utilizing unique algorithms that study internal company sources and external academic journals, Citrine is able to create new materials and products for Fortune 1000 companies.
The CEO of Citrine, Greg Mulholland, commented on receiving the award in a press release, saying, “We are excited for this recognition from one of the most important organizations in the field of materials science. The selection of Citrine for this award validates the massive opportunity to use data and AI technology designed with an understanding of materials and chemicals theory to speed up the product development cycle.”
The twelve semi-finalists of the Start-up Challenge were judged by an international jury made up of scientific, business, and societal experts from Hanyang University, Mines Paris Tech, ESCP Europe, Ecobank, Fonds Européen des Matériaux, EcoEmballages, and Pyral.
