Small business owners struggle with how best to integrate resources into their company, including those that bring efficiencies to their operations. Those resources combined with strong communication help a business have sustainable growth as more employees are brought on board and new department structures emerge.
Weave, an all-in-one small business customer communication platform, addresses those challenges, and was recently recognized through its inclusion in the Y Combinator list of Top Companies in 2022.
“Weave’s growth, TAM and market opportunity are incredibly compelling, even as we approach almost a decade since the company participated in Y Combinator,” said Weave CEO Roy Banks who was just named CEO of the Year by Utah Business magazine. “Our customer obsession and people first culture are vital to our next era of growth as a public company on the New York Stock Exchange.”
Banks has received glowing accolades for what he has achieved since taking over the helm of Weave. He, notably, is the only black CEO of a Utah tech unicorn. He has an A+ rating on Comparably that places him in the top 5% of CEOs of similar sized companies. He led Weave through its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. The company now has over 900 employees, a new six-story headquarters in Lehi, and an expanded recruiting base to India.
Over 20,000 small business clients are a testament to Weave’s valuable small business communication service that unifies, modernizes, and personalizes every customer interaction. With its all-in-one customer communication and engagement platform, small businesses are able to capture their customer engagement, beginning with a customer’s first call, moving forward in each interim step, and wrapping up with the final invoice.
Weave’s vital feature of connecting the entire customer journey, transforms how small businesses attract, communicate and engage with their customers—giving their clients a competitive advantage to grow their companies.
To be included in Y Combinator’s Top Companies list a company must be a graduate of its accelerator program and have a valuation over $150 million. Weave meets those qualifications and also has the distinction of being the first Utah company to go through Y Combinator’s startup funding boot camp—which they did in 2014.
Being a graduate of Y Combinator’s programs puts Weave in the company of over 3,000 companies that have attained worth of more than $400 billion. Well-known graduates include SaaS leaders Stripe, Gusto, and Human Interest—all high-growth companies.
Here are key notes about the companies included in Y Combinator’s 2022 list:

Maintaining effective communication is one of the greatest challenges facing a small business as it grows. Unlike well-established large corporations that have their processes in place to be referenced by management and employess, a growing small business must establish its processes and documents for the first time in order for it to grow and move forward.
Weave’s communication all in one platform removes much of that operational stress for small businesses. They give their clients key services to move forward confidently.
