Growing demand by corporations for intelligent, conversational voice applications as part of their global product strategies has led to a key technology breakthrough by Voicebox, an award-winning voice technology for the automotive, mobile, home and IoT markets. In a recent announcement Voicebox revealed a new innovation for semantic parsing in artificial intelligence that lowers the need for data collection.

The company’s neural network model is able to transfer information from one language to the other, thus leveraging the data of one language to reduce data needed for another language. In addition to reducing costly data collection, the innovation addresses the challenge of parsing multi-language utterances, known in linguistic circles as “code-switching.

Voicebox’s pioneering work in conversational Artificial Intelligence and context management provides IoT, home, mobile, and automotive manufacturers with artificial intelligence capable of understanding the spoken word. With flagship customers like Toyota and Samsung, the technology is available in 23 languages in six continents.

Dr. Phil Cohen, Chief Scientist, AI at Voicebox, talked about the innovation in a press release, saying that the company was, “excited about the ground-breaking benefits this innovation brings to users. At the end of the day, the goal of Voicebox Advanced Technologies research is to bring practical value and a better experience to users.”
