As a way to honor the contributions of women in bioscience, Virginia Bio, the leading life science non-profit organization in Virginia, is holding a conference titled “Women Building Bio: The XX Factor”. This inaugural event held by will be taking place in Inova Center for Personalized Health on September 29th.
The conference seeks to bolster connections between leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, academics, students, and others involved in the bioscience field. It is open to all members of the community.
The exchange of thoughts and ideas are encouraged in order to enable better success, strategies and research for participants. Collaboration, developing future leaders and increasing the contributions of women in the industry are also other major goals of the event.
Peggy Agouris, the Dean of the College of Science at George Mason University expresses enthusiasm for the conference. Agouris states that “this conference is a perfect opportunity to reflect not only on what’s been done by women in the industry, but where we are going as a collective community”.
“Women Building Bio: The XX Factor” will feature a variety of speakers and panelists which includes women who have made an impact in life sciences.
