Andrew Yang has announced today his plans to step down as CEO of Venture for America this coming September.
Taking on the CEO role will be Amy Nelson, current Managing Director at VFA. Yang will be joining the Board of Directors at the company, whom have voiced unanimous endorsement for this decision.
In Yang’s time as CEO, Venture for America has trained and recruited over 700 entrepreneurs, which went on to create over 2,200 jobs, with 25% of VFA Fellows going on to found their own companies.
“If there is anything that the last 6 years of building and running Venture for America has taught me, it is that great things – all things – remain possible if you pursue your ideals and surround yourself with amazing people,” said Yang. “I will take our ideals as far as I can possibly go, and I believe in my heart that I will do enough good to make this the right choice.”
