The upcoming Blockchain Connect Conference on January 11th in San Francisco, hosted by SV Insight, will have an emphasis on academics within the blockchain space, believing academic contributors deserve greater attention. Facilitating this, the conference will gather together authoritative blockchain professors, technical experts, and public chain projects having advanced technology to fuel discussion around cutting-edge solutions, academic research, and challenges within the field.
With this explicit emphasis on expertise and knowledge, the conference is now calling for academic papers from researchers within the blockchain field. The authors of these paper will have their work judged, and outstanding researchers given the opportunity to participate in closed-door meetings and thought collisions with other professors and scholars.
Even with this extensive push for academics in blockchain, the conference has two separate tracks. The academic track covers everything above, with professors, blockchain core developers, and scholars all participating in cutting-edge technical and academic sharing. The other track, the business track, examines the industrial applications blockchain has, and is led by enterprise blockchain research heads, entrepreneurs, and investors analyzing current research and venture capital.
COO of SV Insight, Peter Qin, commented on academics in blockchain, saying that, “The short-term wealth-making effect brought by cryptocurrencies does have a huge influence, but it is only a splash in the development of blockchain technology. In the face of the bear market, the academic circle of blockchain is actually on the rise. We want to add more academic value to the blockchain space.”
