This August 30th and 31st, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors with interests in unmanned aerial systems will meet for this year’s UAS Tech Forum. The president of the Greater Wichita Partnership, Jeff Fluhr, voiced his excitement over being able to host the event at the “Air Capital of the World”, Kansas.
The UAS Cluster Initiative supports both emerging entrepreneurs and existing companies by giving them access to global markets, national technologies, and global capital. The upcoming Tech Forum is just one event that enables them to fulfill this goal, and in particular for businesses located in Oklahoma and South Kansas. The greater Wichita region is recognized as one of five aviation clusters in the world.
Those attending will have access to panel discussions, technology presentations, and keynote presentations from well-regarded speakers in the industry. For investors and strategic partners, the Forum will also include pitch sessions for researchers and entrepreneurs.
Bob Brock, KDOT director of UAS, remarked, “The UAS industry is an ideal fit for the state of Kansas, and the energy behind growing new business here is remarkable. The Secretaries of Transportation and Commerce have dedicated time and resources to foster partnerships with universities, aerospace companies and other state agencies that we believe will be essential to helping UAS businesses thrive in Kansas.”
