Ignatius Anandappa has joined United Technologies (UTC) as a Corporate Vice President and General Manager for their recently opened digital accelerator based in Brooklyn. Anandappa brings to the accelerator 15 years of experience at General Electric, where he served as the CIO for GE Digital. Before this, he also worked at MCI and Pepsi Corp.
In his new position Anandappa will focus on helping UTC business units increase the scale of their teams, while also leading the software development and user experience design disciplines at the accelerator.
The Digital Accelerator represents a $300 million investment that will lead to the creation of 250 jobs for developing software solutions to augment the company’s product and service portfolio. Launching the accelerator is part of UTC’s desire to lead in the areas of IoT and big data.
To reach this number, UTC is now recruiting professionals for the Digital Accelerator that specialize in software development, product management, data science, and other high-tech fields.
“We’re looking for exceptional talent to leverage software, analytics and the Internet of Things to create new sources of value with our products and services, drive productivity, and help improve customer operations,” says Senior Vice President, Digital, and CIO Vince Campisi.
