As part of the Tribeca Film Festival, Games for Change is holding its 12th annual Games for Change Festival, the largest gaming event in New York City from April 21 to April 23.  It is the leading international event around the positive power of digital games, according to the Games for Change newsletter.

Beginning on April 21 at New York University’s Center for Performing Arts, the three-day festival kicks off with the Games & Media Summit, where attendees can explore new forms of interactive engagement and a keynote address from Nick Fortugno of Playmatics.

Games for Change, a movement and community of practice dedicated to using digital games to promote and create social change, leverages entertainment and engagement for social good, according to GamesforChange.org. The 11-year-old nonprofit convenes multiple stakeholders, highlights best practice, incubates games and helps create and direct investment into new projects.

The festival will also feature a professional conference on all three days, a public arcade on April 25 at the Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair, networking and a group of more than 100 speakers, including Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and filmmaker Morgan Spurlock.
