Award Recognizes Women Business Leaders Making a Significant Impact on the State’s Economy
Boston-based nonprofit The Women’s Edge and its twelve-year partner, The Boston Globe, announced this past week its annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list, its part to advance women in leadership positions. For the 24th year, the organization published the list, developed through a nomination process for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
“The organizations on this year’s diverse list are driving $124 billion of revenue into the Massachusetts economy and innovation across the country, from increased manufacturing capacity to breakthroughs in clinical care and therapeutics,” said Elizabeth L. Hailer, CEO, The Women’s Edge. “We are honored to celebrate the Top 100 women leaders and hope it inspires others to drive for success in our region and beyond.”
The women leaders selected this year represent a wide range of industries and business sizes where they have achieved success.
Here are seven of the top 100 women leaders included in the list:
Yamini Rangan Hubspot, CEO
Tracy Armstrong CCC, CEO
Joanne K. Hilferty Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, President
Jean Yang Vinfen, President
Susan Goldberg GBH, CEO
Wendy Nowokunsk Northbridge Industries, President
Chery R. Blanchard, Ph.D Anika Therapeutics, CEO
“We’re thrilled to be recognized once again amongst outstanding women-led companies,” said Tracey Armstrong, President and CEO, CCC. “Being part of The Women’s Edge community of leaders is important to us, and we value the leadership and development opportunities available to the women within our company, who comprise more than 50% of our workforce.”
Selection for this list was determined by several factors: revenue or operating budget, factors considered in the evaluation included workplace and management diversity, board makeup, and innovative projects.
To be eligible, nominees must have led an organization for at least two-thirds of the 2023 calendar year, be the highest-ranking executive in the Massachusetts marketplace, and organizations must complete the survey to be considered for the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts List.
