The Healthcare Technology Report’s annual list of Top 50 HealthTech CEOs of 2021 has now been published, recognizing the most accomplished executives in healthcare technology.  The honorees are selected based on their leadership in a range of healthcare areas that includes medical devices, software platforms, drugs and therapeutics and others in which they have advanced healthcare and contributed to society as a whole.

In addition to being the CEO of their company, those selected may also be researchers, scientists, innovators, business leaders or financial mavens who have navigated their company through significant challenges. In addition, they may be part of a founding team in which they are in the position to transform and grow the venture by working within specialized areas leveraging their individual expertise.

While they are highly involved in the continuing success of their companies, these executives are also dedicated to advancing their particular fields. For instance they may be participating in prestigious research institutions or trade groups that are collaborating to develop effective solutions for patients across the globe.  Their efforts may include spearheading platforms to strengthen the patient/provider connection or developing new blood tests to diagnose diseases—placing them in this select group with the other honorees.

Bird Blitch, CEO and Co-founder of Patientco®, was named in the Top 50 list and gave credit to those who helped build their Patient Financial Engagement Platform, making the honor possible.

“This recognition also celebrates the work that everyone at Patientco does day in and day out to infuse compassion and clarity into the healthcare billing and payment experience. We strive to remove financial barriers to care so that patients feel empowered to seek and receive the care they need,” said Blitch.

Some of the other CEOs honored include: Chris Smith of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Kevin Sayer of Dexcom, John Sheridan of Tandem Diabetes Care, Deborah Kobewka of Evaluate Ltd., Carl Hansen of AbCellera and Eliane Schutte of Xeltis.
